Since inception, the Corporation has taken various steps to uplift the socio-economic conditions of the actual fishermen of the state including development of Beel Fisheries to enhance fish production of the state.
- The Corporation has constructed 20 Nos. shed through District Authority of Darrang district and allotted the same to 20 nos. of poor fishermen family at the construction cost of Rs. 50,000.00 (Rupees fifty thousand) each.
- In the year 2015-16 Rs. 10.00 lakhs was sanctioned and released to Mangaldoi district Sports Association for construction of Community hall in Mangaldoi.
- The Corporation has provided Fish Van, Bicycle, Books to the fishermen families of Borbila Kheluya fishermen Co-operative Society in Nalbari District.
- The Corporation has arranged 110 nos. of Two Wheeler, 2 nos. of Four Wheeler (Fish Van) and other fishing equipments to the fishermen of Sone Beel Fishermen Society in Karimganj district.
- During the period between 2006-07 to 2010-11, the Corporation has celebrated Asom Matchya Mohotsav associated with Fishery Department with various programme including various competition for upliftment of children and women as well as awarded the best fishermen and employees and to the brilliant students of the poor fishermen family for inspiration of their higher education.
- The Corporation has arranged various training programme for Fishermen with the help of CIFRI.
- The Corporation has contributed Rs. 71 Lakhs to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund from the financial year 2008-09 to 2015-16 @ Rs. 10 lakhs each year and during 2016-17 Rs. 11 lakhs.
- Conducted Training Programme at Majuli on 28th to 30th April on “Scientific Fish Farming Practices and Operation of FRP Carp Hatchery” in collaboration with CIFA (Central Inland Freshwater Aquaculture), Bhubaneswar.
- The Corporation has Awarded the 1st & 3rd Best Fish Farmers of the State with Citation and prize money of Rs. 20,000 and Rs. 10,000 respectively on Fish Farmers Day celebration on 10th July 2017 for the year 2016-17.
- The Corporation has awarded 5 nos. of Lessee’s engaging in beel fisheries under the Administrative control of AFDC Ltd. with citation and a cash of Rs. 4000 each for their efforts in management & development of beel and timely payment of lease value.
- The Corporation has awarded 12 nos. of meritorious students from poor SC fisherman community with citation and cash of Rs. 5000 each as one time assistance on FISH Farmers Day celebration on 10th July 2017.
